IN HER CASTLE OF LONGING

She said she longed
For something that would cease to be,
Her fading smile wandered
Through a lonely castle no one could see.

She said she wanted
More than all she ever had,
Tears whispering that she hated
Every piece—it all felt bad.

She said she would wait
In her castle of forgotten dreams,
Once lovely, now outdated,
Still muffling her silent screams.

She said she hated
The thought of moving on,
Yet she’d loved it while she waited—
For all of it to finally be gone.
